UPDATE AND INFORMATION No. 3/19

AUGUST, 2019

I hope you are having a good summer. I was hoping to send this out to you sooner, but technical issues have prevented me from doing so.

The hot and sunny weather continues, although not quite as hot as July and early August when we had temperatures frequently over 40 degrees C. Unfortunately, we have had almost no rain for many weeks so the vegetation is suffering and the fire risk is very high.

The work on replacing the electricity supply to our plots has continued, with many plots in Le Peynier area now connected to the new supply.

Most of the information you need to know about the Domaine is in Can bulletin 10 which was sent out last week. However, I would like to remind you of a few things the Domaine would like us to provide, if you haven’t already done so. Please let the Bureau have:

  • A mobile phone number so that you can be contacted in the event of an emergency or evacuation of the Domaine.

  • Your current contact details, if they have changed.

  • A copy of the current ‘Attestation d’Assurance’, the insurance for your plot and unit.

  • A current list of those who have access to your plot in your absence.

We are also reminded to ensure that we and our family and friends notify the Acceuil when we arrive for our stay and when we leave at the end of our holiday, and to hand back the ‘number badge’.

I am attaching to this document notes which Jane Johnson made when she attended the Fire Extinguisher and Defibrillator training in June, which are well worth a read. I would like to thank Jane for providing this and for her continued translations of Domaine documents.

The Bibliotheque, next to the Post Room is open every Tuesday from 10:00 to 12:00. Thanks to Lesley Mills and Frances Pearce the English section of the Library has been reorganised and has a good selection of books and board games to borrow.

Together with L’Amicale des Lauriers, we continue to organise activities and social events these are published on the amilauriers.fr website. In addition the following may be of interest to English speaking people.

Just one last thing, if anyone would be interested in taking Minutes for the BROS AGM please email me !

I look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Best wishes,

Melanie.
